# Syncthing Syncthing runs on **kaburuaibox** (this machine) as a systemd service, sharing the wiki folder at `/home/kaburu/wiki/` so Steve can edit it in Obsidian from his desktop/laptop. ## Service ``` Service: syncthing@kaburu.service Status: active (running) Started: enabled on boot (loginctl enable-linger) Binary: /usr/bin/syncthing v1.30.0 Config: /home/kaburu/.local/state/syncthing/config.xml ``` ## Device | Field | Value | |-------|-------| | Name | kaburuaibox | | Device ID | `XCQ5YT3-M7IMFBC-TPK7O6Y-N2AI3ME-PNTK7ZR-PJC7LAN-TZNTA2Y-OMQ64AZ` | | GUI (localhost only) | http://127.0.0.1:8384 | ## Shared Folder | Field | Value | |-------|-------| | Folder ID | `kaburu-wiki` | | Label | Kaburu Wiki | | Path | `/home/kaburu/wiki/` | | Type | sendreceive | | Rescan | 60 seconds | | File Watcher | Enabled | ## Obsidian Vault The wiki directory is already configured as an Obsidian vault: | File | Purpose | |------|---------| | `.obsidian/obsidian.json` | Vault name | | `.obsidian/app.json` | Line numbers, markdown links, spellcheck | | `.obsidian/appearance.json` | Dark theme, purple accent | | `.obsidian/core-plugins.json` | File explorer, search, graph, backlinks | ## Firewall Ports (OPNsense — LAN only) Syncthing connects over LAN. If not using Tailscale, open these on OPNsense for LAN: | Port | Protocol | Purpose | |------|----------|---------| | 22000 | TCP | Data transfer | | 21027 | UDP | Local discovery | Syncthing also uses relay servers as fallback (no ports needed). ## Connecting a Desktop/Laptop 1. [Install Syncthing](https://syncthing.net/downloads/) on desktop/laptop 2. Add **kaburuaibox** as a remote device using the device ID above 3. Share the `kaburu-wiki` folder — accept on both sides 4. Open `/home/kaburu/wiki/` as a vault in Obsidian ## What Gwen Ignores The `.gitignore` excludes Obsidian workspace state and plugins so they don't pollute git.
